JUGAT JOTI KAUR (JJ)

Jugat Joti Kaur, 'JJ', has a passion for Kundalini yoga that is contagious. She took her first Kundalini yoga class ten years ago while on vacation with her family in New Orleans. This first experience with Kundalini yoga proved so powerful that she knew she had found her spiritual path. JJ passes on the teachings of Kundalini Yoga with enthusiasm. From her own experience, she deeply understands the transformative potential of a dedicated practice of Kundalini yoga. JJ is finishing her Master's in Expressive Arts and Spiritual Practice as Healing/Therapeutic Processes. Her work includes her own painting as well as developing community based art projects for children, teens and those with mental health and addiction issues. Jugat Joti serves on the board of Yoga Santa Fe and has taught there for two years.

Body Temple

The focus and intention of a Body Temple class is to:

  • To be deeply engaged with the body and breath in order to become fully aware and conscious of the present moment

  • To learn how to exercise control over the mind - to disengage from the incessant chatter of the mind

  • To develop and create an internal world that is so strong nothing from the outside has the power to create an imbalance within the structure of the mind.

  • To strengthen the body, to elevate the soul, and connect with the Infinite Consciousness within ourselves

All Body Temple classes include a deep focus on the fundamentals of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan: Posture, Pranayam, Naad Yoga (mantra), Mudra, mediation and deep relaxation. Friday Classes include movement and dance as part of the warm-up and/or warm/down.
